Liam Hamilton Porter died unexpectedly in his sleep at home on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the age of 23. Born on February 1, 1996, in Guilford County, North Carolina, he attended school in Wake County and graduated from the TarHeel Academy.
Liam was loved and will be remembered forever by his parents, Ann Lynn Coventry and Robert Bruce Porter, by his brother, Rhys Benjamin Porter, and by family and friends from around the world: his grandfather Bruce Porter of Maine; his aunts and uncles Richard and Carole Coventry of Singapore, Christian Porter of Connecticut, and Sonia Coventry and Slim Loghmari of England; his cousins Keira, Alicia and Kirsten Coventry of England and Singapore, Noah and Heidi Loghmari of England and CJ and Tiffany Porter of Connecticut. Liam enjoyed rap music, anime, playing games with his friends and going to the movies with his family. He loved animals and always stood ready to help a friend in need.
His family will memorialize Liam later this year during a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, Liam’s family suggests that those whose lives he touched remember him with a donation towards a bench dedicated in his name that will serve as a place for family and friends to visit him and to reflect upon the impact he had in their lives.
