May 3, 1929 ~ November 16, 2021 (age 92)

Obituary

C. William "Bill" Pappert went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 92 years of age. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 3, 1929, but lived in the Atlanta area from 1964 until he moved to Raleigh, NC in May 2021.

Bill was born on May 3, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served as a Merchant Marine after high school and traveled the world. When he returned, he enrolled as an Air Force cadet at West Point prep school where he was honorably discharged after two years due to injuries sustained in an accident. His interests and employment thereafter included stints as an actor, cab driver, iron worker, and bond salesman in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he met Annette Haymore in 1960. They were married on August 5, 1961. Bill did two years of dental school and then chose to return to selling bonds which took the couple to Atlanta, Georgia where they lived and raised a family together for 54 years. Bill started several businesses during that time, with Pappert Plastic Card Company becoming his most successful endeavor. Annette passed away in 2015, and he lived as a widower in Atlanta until May, 2021, when he moved to Raleigh, NC to be closer to his daughter Becky at Sunrise of Raleigh for the final six months of his life.

He is survived by his brothers, P. David Pappert of Maryland, and E. Thomas Pappert of Michigan; as well as his daughters, Kelly Ward Heard (C. Dale) of Marietta, and Becky A. Sparks (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC. His grandchildren, Katy Ward, Daniel Ward, and John Ward, Kaye Sparks Acosta (Daniel), Nicholas Sparks, Molly Sparks Haopshy (Tony), and Peter Sparks. His three great-grandchildren, Noah Haopshy, Eloise Haopshy and Charlie Haopshy of Raleigh, NC. We mourn his loss but are grateful he is with his wife of 54 years, Annette H. Pappert, in heaven.

Bill is loved and remembered by many, especially for his sense of humor. His daughters both rejoice
that he renewed his love for Jesus at the end of his life and is now with the Lord and with their
mother.
