Obituary

Carolyn Painter passed away the evening of April 23rd 2023 after a sudden, life-changing illness.

A long time resident of Creedmoor, NC, she was born in Prosperity, a small mining community near Beckley, Wva, to Charles Balaskey and Sophia Nagy, and is the middle child of five siblings.

She was a strong, witty, passionate, spontaneous and loving woman who loved to listen to music, sing, go to the beach, and make people smile. She spoke to everyone she met, and loved to have conversations. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and always had them on her mind. While not being a member of a specific church, Carolyn was very invested in her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Left to honor and remember her love are her daughter Kelly Brown, her granddaughter Scarlett Tingen, her brothers Robert Kistler and Steven Balaskey, and her sister Linda Cates. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Charles (Chuck) Balaskey.

Today she dances with angels.

"And I think to myself...what a wonderful world"
