Darlene Mary Schneider was born on June 17, 1936 to Frank and Geraldine Schneider in Mount Joy, PA. She graduated from Mount Joy High School and attended Millersville Teacher's College in Millersville, PA. She went on to become a reporter for the Lancaster New Era paper in Lancaster, PA. She moved from Lancaster, PA to Philadelphia, PA where she met and married Toussaint Turner. From this union five children were born.
She was employed by the Department of Nursing at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, PA for 22 years. Darlene became a Deacon at Holy Trinity Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. She and her family moved to Ardmore, PA for many years before retiring and moving to Raleigh, NC. In Raleigh is where she became a devoted member of Peace Unitarian Universalist Church for many years until her passing.
She is preceded in death by her mother Geraldine and father Frank Schneider along with her ex husband, Toussaint Turner, her sister-in-law Daisy Jones and brother-in-law Henry Jones.
She is survived by her five children, Scott Turner, Stephen Turner, Marc Turner, Drew Turner, and Deidre Wiggins; three daughters-in-law, Rosalind Keeys, Wanda Turner, Arsha Turner; one son-in-law James Wiggins; grandchildren; Myles Keeys Turner, Jordan Keeys-Turner, Dehaven Fields, Felicia Davidson, Ashley Myers, Alexis Elrath, Haile Turner, Carly Turner, Funmi Turner, Adia Turner, Twenjorleh Turner, Jordyn Cray, Adon Turner, Allana Turner, Alex Turner, Devon Barnes, Ermaleah Taybron, Jaheim Wiggins, and Ityanna Wiggins; three granddaughters-in-law, Janaya Sadler, Edie Fields and Chelsey Turner; three grandsons-in-law, Justin Davidson, Kyle Elrath, and Corey Myers; fifteen great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Edith Moseley; brother-in-law, Dan Moseley; nephew, Harold Davis; nieces, Cassandra Outlaw and Juanita Watts; nephew-in-law, Bobby Watts; several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, extended family members and a host of lifelong friends all creating a beautiful rainbow of color and love.
