Dawn Jones Trogdon, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on January 24, 2024 in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born on April 13th, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida to loving parents, Charles R Jones and Mary C Jones. Dawn was preceded in death by sisters, Jodie Blockinger and Terri Jones and survived by sisters, Karin Teague and Sherry Martin. They all instilled in her a deep sense of compassion and kindness which she carried with her throughout her life.
Dawn's greatest joy came from the love and laughter shared with her family. Her daughter, Angela and son, William were the lights of her life. She adored them beyond measure and took great pride in watching them grow into the remarkable individuals they are today. Dawn found immense happiness when she welcomed her daughter in law, Christina, into their family as William's wife , a woman whom she cherished like a daughter.
Dawn’s six grandchildren brought a great depth of joy into Dawn's heart. She loved her grand babies- Logan Dove, Maya Trogdon, Zoe Trogdon, Alexa Chapman, Charlie Denton, and Austin Denton all very much. This was evidenced in the stories she frequently shared with others about them and in all of their hearts.
Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched everyone who crossed paths with her. Dawn always had an ear available to listen to anyone needing comfort or advice. She gave selflessly without expecting anything in return.
Dawn was also known for her unwavering strength during times of adversity. Her resilience inspired those around her as she faced life's challenges head on with grace and determination.
Dawn leaves behind a legacy built upon love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family. Though our hearts ache at this profound loss, we take solace knowing that she is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
She will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by hers but never forgotten for the light that shined so brightly within her soul.
Anyone who knew Dawn, knew that the beach was her favorite place to be. She was always up for a trip to the beach and frequently took her family on memorable adventures there. As a final farewell, her family will take one last trip, where they will share in a private ceremony at her favorite beach
