Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Mrs. Emma Johnson Scott, age 66, of Garysburg, NC, who transitioned into eternal rest at Transitions Life Care, Raleigh, NC on Monday, November 07, 2022.
Emma, daughter of Molly Johnson and Stepfather James Banks, was born on April 27, 1956, in Northampton County, NC.
She received her formal education through the public schools of Northampton County.
During her youth, she confessed faith in Christ and joined Gaston Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as her health permitted.
Emma touched the lives of many people she came in contact with and gained their utmost respect. If you were sad, she would comfort you; if you were depressed or down-hearted, she would encourage you; and if you were happy, she would undoubtedly rejoice with you.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, playing cards, and eating good food.
She is now reunited with the love of her life Malcon Dean Scott who preceded her in death; left to cherish her beautiful memories are her parents Molly Johnson and Stepfather James Banks of Gaston, NC; two daughters: Wanda Neal (Tony) Raleigh, NC, Cassandra Sloan (Kenneth) Durham, NC and a special son James Scott (Takita) Clayton NC; three loving grandchildren who loved their "Grandma Jean": Toniah of Raleigh NC, Kenneth Jr. and Malcolm, of Durham, NC, three special grandkids Jai'Shae Scott, Rhys Scott, and Jase Scott, and one bonus granddaughter RiKya Taylor all of Clayton NC; sister: Carolyn Johnson of Gaston, NC; her sister-in-laws: Loretta Garland and Mary Melvin of Garysburg, NC, Ethelene Gaithers (Samuel) of Palm Coast, FL; one brother-in-law: Richard Scott, Sr. of Pleasant Valley, NC; aunts, uncle, nieces, and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
A Celebration Honoring the Life and Spirit of Mrs. Emma Johnson Scott will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 12:00 PM from the sanctuary of Gaston Missionary Baptist Church, Gaston, NC, with Pastor Rev. Dr. Tony Flood, Sr. presiding Rev. Dr. Jeryl V. Moody and Bishop Deborah Webb giving words of comfort.
Mrs. Scott will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. "Weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning."
