Grady Russell Smith

In Loving Memory of Grady Russell Smith, the son of the late Jadie and Zona Smith was born on the 2nd day of August 1945 in ( Lillington) Harnett County NC.

Grady departed this earthly life into everlasting life on Wednesday 29th of August 2023, Raleigh NC. Grady was educated in the Harnett County School System where he attended North Harnett elementary then onto Shawtown High School.  At an younger age he would attend McCoy Grove Baptist Church along with his family.  He was the sixth child of ten children. Grady worked for the Post Office as an Custodian for several years until retirement. He was a joy to be around, love to laugh and have fun, he even gave himself a nickname that his family and friends would call him by, "Shady Grady" with the quickness  .

Grady will be forever in our hearts.  Preceded in death was his life time friend Louise Hawkins. He leaves to Cherish his memory sons, Stevie of (New Jersey) Desmond Gilchrist of Apex, NC Tejan Hawkins of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Grandchildren, Lexus Davis of New York Mercedes Davis of Raleigh, NC Kamron Davis of Raleigh, NC TJ Jr. Hawkins of Raleigh, NC. Sisters, Mildred S Johnson of Raleigh NC Carolyn (Robert) McLaughlin of Fayetteville NC; Special Niece: Janice Burnett of Raleigh NC and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place at a later date. We thank you, Heavenly Father, for the life of our beloved one and we pray that you grant him eternal rest and comfort.
