Harry Lyle Abbott

December 22, 1930 ~ June 23, 2021 (age 90)


Harry Lyle Abbott was born in Jefferson, OH Dec. 22, 1930 to Lucious, and Elsie (Rose) Abbott. He died on June 23, 2021 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

Harry was married to Wanda Dearing on June 23, 1951 in Denmark, OH. He worked several years in construction. After that he worked for 30 years at Reliance Electric in Ashtabula, OH where they made electric motors. After retiring from there he enjoyed farm work for George Waid, until moving to North Carolina in October of 2006. 
He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1963. He regularly attended the meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jefferson, OH and later in Zebulon, NC .

He is survived by his four sons, Gary (Jeanette) of Granite Bay, CA, Kenneth (Joan) of Meeker, CO, Ronald (Corrine) of TN, Mark (Linda) of Knightdale, NC., eight grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucious and Elsie Abbott, his wife, Wanda Abbott, his daughter, Sarah (Abbott) Allds, two brothers, Earl and Charles, and  five sisters, Alice Kellogg, Edith Palowski, Ruth Hanson, Charlotte Garbotti, and Jessie Weddle.

There will be a funeral talk given by Larry Johnson of the Lake Wendell congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where Harry regularly attended. The talk will be given via Zoom on Sunday July 4, 2021 at 5 pm EST. His ashes will be buried alongside his parents in Kelloggsville Cemetery in Kelloggsville, OH at a future date.
