On the morning of August 28,2023, Henri Curtrize Parham was ushered to her Heavenly Home. She was born on August 30,1963 to the union of Curtrize T. Parham, Jr. and Geraldine Cole Parham at Jubilee Hospital in Henderson, North Carolina. Henri was raised in Coton Memorial Presbyterian Church. She received Christ at an early age along the side of her older sister, AnNatalie as they answered the altar call. Her spiritual foundation was anchored in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Henri was educated in Vance County attending E.M. Rollins, Eaton Johnson and graduating from Vance Senior High School Class of 1981. Henri loved being a Viking. She participated in many auxiliaries but was known for driving that “Big Yellow School Bus”. She was a beloved member of her Happy Hill Community. She frequently visited her neighbors whether getting a slice of cake from Aunt Rebecca, babysitting Myra and Ktanya Bobbit or sitting on Mrs. Bullock’s front porch. She and her “crew” walked the streets of Chestnut, Hamilton and Rockspring many a day to see what the “Happening” was. Henri loved Henderson.
Upon graduation she matriculated to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where her “Tarheel” breed enthusiasm led Henri to receive her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 1985.
Henri married her high school sweetheart, Victor Dorsey, Sr. and they were blessed with three children, Victor M. Dorsey, Jr., Veatasha H. Dorsey and Vashae H. Dorsey. Henri began her professional career as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Durham, NC which spanned over thirty years. Henri’s anointed touch was experienced when caring for her parents. They loved her warmhearted demeanor as she treated them to her “kid glove” technique while seated in her chair. Her attention to detail and respect for her craft permeated itself to every aspect of her life. She was an integral part of the staff, an exclusive list of Doctors of Dentistry including Dr. Desiree Palmer, Dr. Rodrick Alston, Dr. Edward Clemons Jr. and Dr. Peter Lim. Henri’s entrepreneurial spirit grew as she built teams to executive status in Primerica and 5Linx. Henri’s strong will and determination helped build her business as well as motivated others to reach professional milestones and successes.
Above all, Henri was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She was a faithful companion and confidant. A true friend as evidenced by the many lives she touched and to those who poured into her. Henri’s journey on earth has ended but her spirit will live on in all those who will carry her light.
