Joshua Skip Zinner, 23, of Raleigh died on March 10th. He was a graduate of Broughton High School and attended UNC Wilmington, where he was a brother of Kappa Alpha fraternity.
While in high school, he competed in wrestling and played CASL soccer. His more recent passions included playing pickleball with his father, spending time at Lake Gaston, and working diligently at the Oakwood Pizza Box in Raleigh.
Josh was also an avid Carolina Hurricanes fan who regularly attended games with his father and sisters. He also cheered for his parents' alma maters, UNC and the University of Michigan, and for the Utah Jazz.
Josh will be most remembered for his easy ability to make friends wherever he went and his positive impact on the lives of those around him. Those who knew him will be forever changed by his infectious personality, compassionate heart, and giving nature. A natural organizer of events and people, if there was fun to be had, you’d find Josh showing the way. His charisma, his enthusiasm, the kindness at his very core made everyone love to be around him; he made everyone feel seen and heard. Josh had a rare quality that cannot be taught–his own unique combination of kindness, charm and exuberance. He gave all of us so much joy, and we miss him profoundly.
He would want us all to remember: Anything is edible if you eat it.
