Michael Charles Rochelle

Michael Charles Rochelle son of Nathaniel and Ruby Rochelle, was born November 1, 1959 in Alabama. He departed his earthly life on August 27, 2023, after a long courageous fight.

In 1977, Michael graduated from Jamaica Plain High in Boston, MA;  and later moved to North Carolina where he graduated from Shaw University.

While working at McDonalds and Shaw University, Michael exhibited his love of music and caring spirit. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was all about Shaw University! He was always willing to share industry insights and to provide an encouraging word.

On June 25, 1988, Michael was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Antoinette Hicks.

Michael joined Laodicea UCC (now Macedonia New Life Church), where he was baptized.

Michael was an excellent cook and always took pleasure in watching others enjoy the meals he and his wife prepared. He was an avid pool player and played in many tournaments.

Michael was predeceased by his father Nathaniel Rochelle and his sister Shernita Rochelle.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Antoinette Rochelle; daughter, Tyesha Robinson of Boston; son, Jerome Bennett of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Demarcus Holmes of Raleigh, Jamal Scott and Nyesha Robinson both of Boston; two great- grandchildren, Shala and Zane Robinson both of Boston; mother, Ruby Rochelle of Boston; sisters, Theresa Rochelle of Boston and Sheila Rochelle of Atlanta; brother, Michael Green of Detroit; sister, Katrina Lewis of Detroit; aunt Ruth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
